Practicums
Pre-internship experiences open to individuals interested
in pursuing a Child
life
internship.
Applicants must (1) be enrolled in or have completed college
level child development coursework (child development, theories of child development,
etc.) (2) have completed 150 hours of verifiable fieldwork experience with children
(3) have completed at least 50 verifiable hours of fieldwork with hospitalized children
and (4) be able to commit a minimum of 150 hours to be completed in one semester.

Internships
Opportunity for last semester seniors, graduates or graduate
students to refine advanced clinical skills.
Applicants must (1) have completed or be enrolled in a degree plan such as Child
Life, Child Development, or a related field (2) have a GPA of at least 3.0 (3) have
150 hours of supervised experience with physically well children (4) have 150-200
hours of supervised experience applying introductory theory to interactions with
hospitalized children.
