Clinic visits and referrals
Many medical treatments, procedures and services can be provided to infants and children during outpatient appointments. Texas Children's Hospital provides more than 50 medical and surgical outpatient services to manage children’s special healthcare needs.

If your child needs a referral to one of the medical or surgical clinics, it will be arranged before your child leaves the hospital. Co-payments for outpatient procedures and office visits are due at the time of service.

Same day surgery, same day admission surgery
Same day surgery patients are admitted and go home the same day as their surgeries. Same-day admission surgery patients are admitted to the hospital following their procedures.

Same day surgery is performed in two locations - the third floor of the West Tower and the seventh floor of the Clinical Care Center. Your child’s surgeon and the operating room team will determine the most appropriate location for your child. Call 832-824-5840 for information.
