HOUSTON – (Nov. 11, 2009) – Texas Children’s Hospital was recognized by the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) as a member of the “2009 Class of Good Neighbors” at a recent dinner hosted at the Omni Houston Hotel Westside. SBISD Good Neighbors are individuals, businesses and groups that accomplish three or more activities over the course of a school year in support of the district, a campus, teachers or students.

Among other activities during the past year, Texas Children’s Hospital was recognized for contributing to the district by:

  • Vaccinating students and supporting the clinic at Spring Woods High School

  • Supporting the Spring Branch Back to School Health Fair

  • Providing an adolescent medicine speaker for a Memorial Middle School PTA meeting

  • Transporting SBISD students to the Texas Children’s Hospital Fun Run event

The Spring Branch Educational Foundation sponsors the SBISD Good Neighbor Program, among other initiatives, to help the district realize its mission of providing its students a quality education in a safe environment.
