Texas Children’s movement disorder clinic

The Movement Disorder Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital sees patients with impairments of body movement and control. Conditions treated include dystonia, chorea, tics, ataxia, myclonus, tremor, Tourette syndrome and other disorders.

Careful evaluations are conducted to accurately diagnose the movement disorder and form a specific plan of treatment. Treatment options for movement disorder patients include:

  • Medical therapies

  • Psychological approaches including biofeedback and habit reversal therapy

  • Surgical techniques including intrathecal baclofen pump and deep brain stimulation

The Movement Disorder Clinic is a multidisciplinary effort of Neurology and Developmental Neuroscience in collaboration with the department of Psychiatry.

The Movement Disorder Clinic is held on Monday afternoons and is located within the Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology.
