Blue Bird Circle Volunteers
Outfitted in cheery blue smocks, Blue Bird
Circle volunteers help patients and their families feel
more comfortable and help the neurology staff in many ways.
Approximately 70 volunteers donate more
than 1,100 hours a month. The Blue Bird Circle is Houston’s oldest
women’s volunteer organization and makes major contributions in time
and money to Texas Children’s through its Blue Bird Circle Clinic
for Pediatric Neurology.
Texas Children’s Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology provides expert evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for a
wide range of neurological disorders.
Patients travel to the Blue Bird Circle Clinic and related
subspecialty clinics from around the world to receive compassionate
care from highly trained doctors, nurse practitioners,
neuropsychologists, nurses and social workers.
Commonly seen conditions include seizures,
epilepsy,
headaches, cerebral palsy, muscular
dystrophy, stroke and sleep
disorders. Blue Bird Circle Clinic providers also diagnose and
treat children with extremely rare neurological disorders.
