Family Vision
NICUs in the Community
Family Vision allows hospitalized mothers to see their babies and interact with their care team through a 24-hour video/audio link. This unique service provides a round-the-clock link to the baby at Texas Children’s Newborn Center from the mother’s room in St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center and these other community hospitals: Family Vision was created by Texas Children’s Hospital nurses who wanted to provide new mothers in the hospital with the opportunity to bond with their babies in the Newborn Center. The technology of Family Vision allows you to see your baby and interact with his or her care team at Texas Children’s, who can address any questions you may have regarding your baby’s care and progress. These appointments are individually scheduled between the hospitals and are 15-30 minutes in length per day.
